About WFWO Resource Mobilization

Resource Mobilization Task Force

WFWO recognizes that achieving its development objectives requires sustained cooperation, commitment, and resource mobilization from a broad range of stakeholders, partners, and supporters.

Financial contributions are an important component of WFWO’s ability to develop and implement its programmes and projects at local, national, regional, and international levels. However, sustainable development also depends on technical expertise, knowledge, partnerships, institutional support, innovation, and the active participation of communities and other stakeholders.

WFWO therefore seeks to strengthen and diversify its resource mobilization efforts in support of its programmes and the implementation of projects aligned with the United Nations 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development and the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).

Resource Mobilization Task Force

Following the global financial and food crises, WFWO established its Executive Board Resource Mobilization Task Force (EBRMTF) on 19 May 2009.

The Task Force brought together individuals and professionals with experience in areas including finance, the private sector, international cooperation, development, and other relevant fields, with the objective of strengthening WFWO’s resource mobilization capacity and developing new partnerships and funding opportunities.

The EBRMTF supports WFWO in identifying potential sources of financial and non-financial resources and in developing partnerships that can contribute to the implementation of WFWO programmes and projects.

Its work includes supporting efforts to:

• Identify potential donors, foundations, financial institutions, businesses, and other partners.
• Develop strategic partnerships for sustainable development.
• Mobilize financial and technical resources for WFWO programmes and projects.
• Support fundraising initiatives and resource mobilization campaigns.
• Encourage private-sector and institutional engagement.
• Develop opportunities for cooperation with international development partners.
• Support projects aligned with the SDGs and the UN 2030 Agenda.
• Strengthen the long-term sustainability of WFWO’s programmes and activities.

Investing in People and Sustainable Development

Our work seeks to support individuals and communities, particularly in developing countries, by strengthening opportunities, capacities, partnerships, and access to resources that can help people build more sustainable and resilient futures.

WFWO believes that many development challenges can be addressed more effectively through collective action and cooperation.

For this reason, we seek to work with financial partners, donor countries, international organizations, private-sector organizations, foundations, civil society organizations, individuals, communities, and other stakeholders who share a commitment to sustainable development and human well-being.
